In 1993 Vince McMahon was charged for distribution of steroids. Hulk Hogan gave testimony, which drew in the press, but it was cheap heat. Hogan only stated that he had ever used steroids to recover from injuries, not mentioning anything to implicate McMahon.
Only one wrestler came forward throughout the trials: Kevin “Nailz” Wacholz. Nailz testified that it was McMahon that personally pressured him into using steroids. Since there wasn’t evidence to back the claim his testimony was more or less dismissed. The case ultimately fell apart due to sloppy errors.
A close call for both the WWE and McMahon. A little too close, actually, so Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warriors were promptly replaced by smaller built wrestlers.
